Going in Style Trailer Starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin

After all the controversy and backlash surrounding Zach Braff’s decision to crowdfund his last film, Wish I Was Here, he has apparently taken a much safer route for his next project behind the camera. Going in Style is a studio gig through and through, a remake of a 1979 film of the same name that was directed by Martin Brest (Beverly Hills Cop, Midnight Run) and starred George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg. The plot revolves around three seniors (Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin) who are struggling to live off of Social Security and decide they have nothing to lose by robbing a bank. It might be just another cheap geriatric comedy in the vein of The Bucket List or Last Vegas, but it does appear to have some minor social commentary and the trailer looks a little better than I expected. Going in Style hits theatres on April 7th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
