First Full Live-Action Ghost in the Shell Trailer

After releasing a handful of short teaser clips back in September, Paramount has finally gone live with the first full trailer for their live action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson as “The Major”, a human-cyborg hybrid tasked with tracking down dangerous criminals and extremists. The movie takes place in a futuristic Japan and the trailer is chock full of Japanese imagery, which only draws more attention to the controversy over Johansson’s casting. That being said, director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) does seem to be delivering some interesting visuals and the movie also stars Takeshi Kitano as Chief Daisuke Aramaki. Perhaps the biggest question mark, however, is the script by Jamie Moss (Street Kings) and Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton). Ghost in the Shell hits theatres on March 31st, 2017; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
