Logan Trailer: Hugh Jackman is Wolverine One Last Time

logantrailer

After a week or two of teaser images, Fox has finally unveiled the first full trailer for Logan, the third (and potentially final) Wolverine solo film. Directed once again by James Mangold (The Wolverine, Walk the Line), the trailer is set to Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt, which perfectly sets the tone for a movie featuring Hugh Jackman as an older, broken down Wolverine in a future world where mutants are nearly extinct. Patrick Stewart also appears as an older version of Professor X and seems to be Wolverine’s primary companion in the film, along with Sienna Novikov, who plays a young girl believed to be X-23, a female clone of Logan. Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen also co-star. Logan hits theatres on March 3rd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Has this has been confirmed to be rated R?

  • Sean

They say that’s what they’re aiming for but it won’t be officially rated until it’s done.

Never liked the series…never felt Fox really understood the character …but I got to admit this looks quite good and interesting. Always loved Jackman…he made a fine Wolverine…but thought the material and Fox never did him justice. Hopefully this final installment will.

It will be interesting to see where they go from here, if this is truly Jackman’s last time playing the character. Recast? I can’t believe they just won’t have Wolverine in future X-Men movies.

Love this trailer, mainly cause it doesn’t look like a superhero trailer at all. Really digging the apocalyptic vibe.

So what happened to his “healing factor” He’s supposed to be basically immortal and doesn’t age?
