Get Out Trailer: An Original Horror Movie from Jordan Peele

getout

Key & Peele made their big screen debut as a comedy team earlier this year in the action parody Keanu, but next year Jordan Peele is stepping out on his own with his directorial debut Get Out. After watching the first trailer, it is pretty clear that although it has some surreal elements, this is a legit horror movie and is not intended to be a comedy. The movie stars Daniel Kaluuya (Sicario) as a young black man who goes home with his girlfriend (Allison Williams) to meet her rich white family. Things get weird from there and racial tensions definitely seem to be a major factor. The movie is produced by Jason Blum, who continues to take some interesting risks with his genre flicks. Get Out hits theatres on Feb. 24th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

It legitimately looks funnier than Keanu.

This is a comedy, with a main tagline: what if whites are devils.
As some blacks from the hood like to call them – white devil.

  • Deven Science

That showed a lot. It seemed to be the whole movie in fast forward.

awesome, i’ve been hearing jordan peele talking about making a horror movie about race relations for the past few years on podcasts and such. neat to see it come to fruition. spent half the trailer going “where is that guy from?” and finally realized he’s from the second episode of black mirror with the singing show.

This is an amazingly weird and intriguing premise for a horror movie, and the trailer looks fresh and interesting! Can’t wait.
