After long string of production delays and a recent rash of bad publicity for Johnny Depp, the first teaser trailer for the next Pirates of the Caribbean film debuted tonight during the Fear the Walking Dead season finale. Perhaps not surprisingly, Depp himself is nowhere to be seen in the teaser, which focuses instead on Javier Bardem as a new villain named Captain Salazar who is seeking revenge on Jack Sparrow. We also get our first look at Brenton Thwaites as Henry, the son of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom). There isn’t too much else to see here, but it definitely feels a bit darker than previous installments. Whether that is an indication of what to expect from the entire movie remains to be seen. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) and it hits theatres on May 26th, 2017; check out the first teaser after the jump and see what you think.
