Here’s the first trailer for Ben Affleck’s next film behind the camera, Live by Night. This is the second time he has adapted a Dennis Lehane novel (the first was his directorial debut Gone Baby Gone), but this one is set in the Prohibition Era. Affleck plays the son of a Boston police captain who has turned to a life of crime, eager to work his way up from petty thief to a full blown mobster. Whether this will be a future classic that gets mentioned alongside The Untouchables or Miller’s Crossing remains to be seen, but the movie does have a pretty solid supporting cast that includes Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana, Scott Eastwood, Sienna Miller, Brendan Gleeson, Anthony Michael Hall, Chris Messina and Chris Cooper. Live by Night hits theatres on Jan. 13th; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
