In between all of his major blockbusters, Will Smith has been known to branch out with some smaller dramatic films as well. Although the quality of these projects have generally been hit or miss, at the very least you have to give him credit for taking a chance on something original every now and then. His next film Collateral Beauty looks like it should fit right in alongside some of his more sentimental movies like The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds. The movie has drawn comparisons to It’s a Wonderful Life and it revolves around a New York ad executive who cuts himself off from his family and friends after experiencing a personal tragedy. Directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me) and written by Allan Loeb (Things We Lost in the Fire, The Space Between Us), the movie co-stars Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Naomie Harris and Michael Peña. Collateral Beauty hits theatres on Dec. 16th (the same day as Rogue One); check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
