Remember Max Steel? Mattel has been threatening to make a live-action movie based on this late ’90s toy line for years now, but apparently it actually happened. Taylor Lautner was attached to star once upon a time, but in the end we are getting a movie starring Ben Winchell (?) with Mario Bello and Andy Garcia in supporting roles. The original animated series revolved around a teenage extreme sports athlete who is exposed to nanomachines that give him super powers. In the movie, an alien named Steel (voiced by Silicon Valley‘s Josh Brener) helps him harness his powers. Either way, this looks like a glorious disaster. Max Steel is directed by Stewart Hendler (Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Sorority Row) and hits theatres on Oct. 14th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
