Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival Teaser Trailer Starring Amy Adams

arrival

One of the most highly anticipated movies of the fall festival season has got to be Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival (previously titled Story of Your Life). Based on a short story by Ted Chiang, this is Villeneuve’s first real foray into science-fiction (unless you thought Enemy was about an alien invasion… ahem) prior to taking on the Blade Runner sequel. The movie stars Amy Adams as a linguist who is recruited by the military to try and communicate with a mysterious spacecraft that has landed on Earth. The first teaser trailer is here and it certainly promises some breathtaking imagery. Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker and Michael Stuhlbarg also co-star. Arrival will premiere at the Venice Film Festival and TIFF in September before hitting theatres on Nov. 11th; check out the teaser trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Great trailer! I’m excited to hear more about this movie.

Forest Whitaker ruins almost every single movie he’s in.

I hope the aliens sex up Amy Adams.

  • Larry Morgan

Isn’t this basically the premise of The Day The Earth Stood Still? No complaints, I’m stoked for this

Somehow this one flew by me until now. An exciting director tackling one of my favorite genres!
I just hope that this one turns out better than Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special…
