Godzilla: Resurgence Gets a New Trailer, Coming to U.S. in Late 2016

Toho has released one more trailer for their upcoming Godzilla movie Shin Godzilla (aka Godzilla: Resurgence) before it hits theatres in Japan next weekend. It’s another dialogue-free trailer with a decidedly sombre tone, seemingly an attempt to bring this franchise back to its darker roots while also delivering a contemporary level of action and spectacle. If you’re dying for the movie to be released outside of Japan, you’re in luck, because at Comic-Con it was just announced that Funimation will be distributing the film in North and South America as well as the Caribbean. Their plans include TV and on-demand streaming, but first they will give the movie a U.S. theatrical release in late 2016. It is unclear just how wide the release will be and also whether it will be subtitled or dubbed, but suffice to say this is big news for kaiju fans. Check out the latest trailer for Godzilla: Resurgence after the jump and let us know what you think.

Is the Godzilla premium still the least downloaded?

Hard to say since it takes a while to see where more recent premiums will ultimately end up. But yeah it’s near the bottom.

Looks like the crew skipped using CGI or a man-in-suit for the monster and used the large, rubber toy that I had back in the 70s. Still, a must watch for me. Now, where can I learn Japanese quickly?

That’s unfortunate, the Godzilla premium is one of my faves.
