HBO’s Westworld Trailer

A TV remake of Michael Crichton’s Westworld has been a long time coming, but it appears that the first season may finally be ready for public consumption. After facing controversy over graphic sex scenes and several production delays, HBO has finally released the first official trailer and confirmed a fall premiere date. Created by J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan, the show follows the basic premise of the 1973 film, which takes place in a futuristic theme park populated by lifelike robots where humans can live out their wildest fantasies. Needless to say, things go awry and the show looks to explore the depths to which humanity will sink when given free reign in a world without consequence. With a cast that includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr., this looks like another expensive HBO production but hopefully it will be worth the wait. Westworld premieres sometime in October; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
