Woody Allen’s Cafe Society Trailer Starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart

Woody Allen’s latest film Cafe Society just premiered at Cannes this week to positive, if mostly lukewarm, reviews and now the first trailer has officially arrived online. Allen is the latest auteur to have been wooed by Amazon, who will release the film in theatres later this summer. The movie finds Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart playing an on-screen couple for the third time in their career (Adventureland and American Ultra being the other two) although in this case the story takes place in the 1930s where Stewart plays an assistant to Eisenberg’s Uncle Phil (Steve Carell), a high-powered Hollywood agent. It’s a wistful and nostalgic romantic comedy about high class society, which is something Woody Allen tends to do well when he’s on his game… but will this be one of the good ones? Cafe Society co-stars Jeannie Berlin, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott and it hits select theatres on July 15th. Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Jessie is crazy Woodying at 1:11.
Hopefully this lead to a Woody premium or two.

I’m thinking the same thing too Jesse is crazy channeling Woody in this movie…it’s like woody has found his surrogate…eerie.

A Woody premium would definitely be great. I’m curious if any of the Film Junk crew have seen the 3 hr 15min doc on him from 2012? After hearing Jay talk about DePalma this week – here is another example of a very in-depth, chronological portrait of a filmmaker, in which Allen actively participates in the conversation about his life and work throughout the film.
