Writer-director duo Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett made a name for themselves with horror films like You’re Next and A Horrible Way to Die plus segments in the V/H/S and The ABCs of Death anthology films. Most recently, however, they branched out a bit with The Guest, which seemed to open some doors and start bringing them new opportunities in the world of blockbuster action movies. Before they head down that rabbit hole, however, they are going back to their roots with a found footage horror movie called The Woods (not to be confused with the Lucky McKee film of the same name). We don’t know much about the movie aside from the fact that it revolves around a group of college students on a camping trip but the first trailer is chock full of quotes from critics promising big things. The Woods hits theatres on Sept. 16th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
