USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage Trailer Starring Nicolas Cage

ussindianapolis

If you’re getting tired of seeing Nicolas Cage waste his talent on generic-looking VOD revenge thrillers, here’s something that will at least have him wearing a different outfit on screen. This summer he will star in an historical action movie about the USS Indianapolis, the U.S. naval ship that delivered parts for the first atomic bomb in 1945 before being torpedoed by the Japanese, killing almost 900 crewmen. Directed by Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City, Baadasssss!), USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage is a relatively small $40 million movie, but believe it or not this is not a VOD release. It appears to be getting a theatrical release just in time for Memorial Day although at the moment it is unclear just how wide it will be. The movie co-stars Tom Sizemore and Thomas Jane and it hits theatres on May 30th; check out the epic trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

It would be awesome to see Cage do something worth while, but I fear those days are long gone.

Read the book a year or so back and it got me pretty choked up (which books hardly ever do). Day after day of sharks attacking and killing them one by one…could be quite a hard movie to watch.

Cage, Sizemore and Jane , it’s VOD gold brother !

  • Thurston

    …and sharks brother!

That trailer went from a war movie, to a disaster movie, to a survival movie, to a shark attack movie, to a court room drama. This is AT LEAST 5 movies in 1. That’s more bang for your buck.

Also, I loooooooovvvvveeeee all of those “quotes” towards the end. “Intense” “Powerful” “Riveting” “Brilliant” “Stunning”. Never attaches these quotes to anyone. It’s as if they just wanted you to know these are words you could use to describe a movie.

Anything is still possible for Cage, but I have to agree with ya those days might be long gone.

If its under 2 hours long I may watch it once it comes to netflix.
