New to Theatres This Weekend: Captain America: Civil War, A Bigger Splash, Elstree 1976

The summer movie season has officially arrived, bringing with it what should easily be one of the biggest movies of the year. Captain America: Civil War is potentially looking at the best Marvel opening weekend to date, which makes sense considering that to most people it simply looks like another Avengers movie. As expected, no other major releases are foolish enough to try and compete, although there are a handful of other alternatives in select theatres including A Bigger Splash, the English-language debut of Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love), and the Star Wars documentary Elstree 1976. On the other hand, if you’re in the mood for an established classic, Jean-Luc Godard’s Band of Outsiders is also getting a theatrical re-release courtesy of Rialto Films.
