Hands of Stone Trailer Starring Edgar Ramirez and Robert DeNiro

While the success of Creed quickly led to a sequel being greenlit, it appears to be merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to upcoming boxing movies. Some of the projects currently in the works include a Vinny Pazienza biopic starring Miles Teller, Ang Lee’s 3D Thrilla In Manila movie, and Scorsese’s Mike Tyson biopic starring Jamie Foxx. But first up is Hands of Stone, a Roberto Duran biopic starring Edgar Ramirez as the Panamanian boxer known for his fights against Sugar Ray Leonard, the second of which ended in controversy. Robert DeNiro plays legendary trainer Ray Arcel while Usher Raymond (yes, that Usher) plays Sugar Ray. The Weinstein Company picked up the rights and will release it in late August, which (for better or worse) is the same strategy they tried with Southpaw. Hands of Stone hits theatres on Aug. 26th; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
