Kingsman 2 Gets a New Title and Poster, May Bring Back a Familiar Face

Fox’s upcoming sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service is expected to start production soon and we’re beginning to learn more about the follow-up as the start date draws near. A couple of months ago, Julianne Moore was cast as the villain, a character supposedly named Poppy, with Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) also recently signing on. Since then, we have also learned that the movie will be called Kingsman: The Golden Circle and that the action will mostly shift to the United States. Now this week a teaser poster for the movie has been released that would seem to confirm the unlikely return of a major character from the first film. Potential spoilers for Kingsman and its sequel follow, after the jump.

As many people may know, Colin Firth’s character, suave superspy Harry Hart met an untimely end in the first film. It was a shocking moment in the comic and no less shocking in the movie. THR previously reported that “there was initial talk of finding ways to return the actor to the roll call, whether via flashback or even a twin brother, but those ideas were discarded, according to sources.” However, the following teaser poster would seem to contradict that statement:

Either way, we know that Taron Egerton will be returning as Eggsy and Matthew Vaughn will be back in the director’s chair. Vaughn recently told Empire (via CBM) that the new movie would involve “a skiing sequence, a barroom brawl, robot dogs, one-armed henchmen, and the heroes being attacked by what Vaughn calls, ‘a massive f***ing frankfurter.'” Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to hit theatres on June 16th, 2017… are you looking forward to this sequel?

Why can’t characters just stay dead. You shot the dude in the face in the first movie. If you wanted him in an potential sequels why would you shoot him in the head? Forcing him back in seems like a mistake.
