The BFG Trailer #2

thebfgtrailer2

Following up on the teaser trailer that was released back in December, Disney has finally released a full trailer for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG. Previously we had only seen a few quick glimpses of the giant himself, but this trailer gives us a much better look at the titular character, voiced and performed by Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies). It also briefly sets up the conflict between The BFG and the other giants; something tells me that they will not drink human blood like they do in the original book. The BFG co-stars Ruby Barnhill, Penelope Wilton, Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement and it hits theatres on July 1st. Check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Pretty bad trailer, imo.

  • It is. I’m reserving my judgement though, because Bridge of Spies had a pretty bad trailer as well and ended up being good after all.

When it comes to trailers, it is sometimes hard to do justice.. We are used to seeing everything in them and when they are vague, we are getting angry. Bridge of spies was really bland to me I have to say. so I’m not hoping in this being similar..

As much as I love The Berg and I absolutely loved TINTIN so I have no problems with him going a CG character route, this has the stink of JACK THE GIANT SLAYER to it.

Not a fan of the cg look. :|
