It’s no secret that Mel Gibson is getting the cold shoulder in Hollywood these days, but fortunately there are people outside the Hollywood system who are still letting him do what he does best. The last time we saw him on screen he was playing villains in both Machete Kills and The Expendables 3 and now this year he is starring in a French production called Blood Father. While it may look like just another Taken clone, it does have some interesting people behind it including screenwriter Peter Craig (The Town) and director Jean-Francois Richet (Mesrine). The movie also stars William H. Macy, Thomas Mann, Elisabeth Rohm, Diego Luna and Michael Parks and Lionsgate will release it in North America later this year. Blood Father hits theatres in Australia on Aug. 25th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
