After teaming up with Netflix fairly early on to bring his TV series Derek to their streaming service, Ricky Gervais is once again partnering with Netflix for Special Correspondents, a remake of the 2009 French film Envoyés très spéciaux. The movie stars Gervais and Eric Bana as a pair of radio broadcasters who are generating fake news coverage of an uprising in Ecuador from the comfort of New York. When they decide to fake their own kidnapping, however, they find themselves being forced to travel to the front lines to avoid getting caught. This is the first movie that Gervais has taken a solo directing credit for and it has a supporting cast that includes Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, America Ferrera, Benjamin Bratt, Raúl Castillo and Kevin Pollak. Special Correspondents debuts on Netflix on April 29th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
