Sausage Party Trailer: An R-rated CG-Animated Comedy from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg

If Deadpool just blew the lid off of R-rated comic book movies, then Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Sausage Party might be about to do the same thing for R-rated CG-animated films. The movie just debuted via a work-in-progress screening at SXSW and and now Sony has followed this up by releasing a red band trailer that looks pretty great. The movie is partially a parody of Pixar-style worlds based around inanimate objects. However, this is anything but a family-friendly adventure as it hilariously explores the horror experienced by supermarket food products that are slaughtered by humans after being taken home to eat. Sausage Party features the voices of Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, Salma Hayek, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson and it hits theatres on Aug. 12th.     Can we get Jay to confirm a moratorium on the Saving Private Ryan Omaha Beach scene reference? I mean, is that still a thing? I’ve “seen it, like, a BILLION TIMES.” Otherwise, this movie looks great and I’m really looking forward to it!

    Getting to the point where if u don’t smoke the substances these guys are on when they’re making these films you’re not gonna get much out of it.

    This looks like a f$%^@# up movie man…what the hell are these guys smoking?? That being said the movie both made me feel revolted and laugh at the same time. It’s a sick movie for sure but it’s basically Toy Story turned into a horror movie.
