Although Paramount has been struggling to reboot The Ring franchise in the U.S. over the past few years (the upcoming sequel Rings was just recently delayed again), the series has had no such problems over in Japan. A couple of spin-offs were released in 2012 and 2013, and now this year they are planning a crossover with another long-running J-Horror franchise: The Grudge. Sadako vs. Kayako originally started out as a fan-made April Fool’s joke last year, but now it is about to become a reality and we’ve got the trailer to prove it. I’m not entirely convinced that two spooky ghost kids can provide a horror showdown on par with Freddy vs. Jason, but clearly this is a movie that will need to be seen to be believed.
