I suggest watching the first two and that’ll give you a sense of the tone and humour and if you’re into it, watch the rest as they’re all pretty similar. The thing that bugged me is that the 2 leads have an amazing life but the series revolves around them constantly complaining about everything.

YES! I never tire of Michael Caine impressions from these two. The scene on the beach in The Trip To Italy is pure poetry.

I echo your sentiments entirely. I’ll happily watch a new Trip movie every year. And more Alan Partridge is the icing on the cake! A pity about Happyish but maybe I wasn’t the only one who thought it a bit too mean-spirited.

For some reason, The Trip really hit all my sweet spots; maybe it was the chemistry between the lead actors or the ad libbed feel to the dialogue. barely remember the second film and may need to re-watch it. I am definitely looking forward to number three!
