So apparently this new Amityville reboot is still happening. You may recall that it was originally supposed to hit theatres back in January of last year, but it was delayed so that they could reshoot the ending and add some new vfx. Now this week a new trailer has arrived online and it actually looks a little worse than I remember. On the plus side, Jennifer Jason Leigh is coming off an acclaimed performance in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, which might help the film get a little more attention. The downside is that this movie looks to be hitting theatres on the same day as The Ring reboot Rings, which won’t be good for business. Bella Thorne (The DUFF), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Kurtwood Smith (RoboCop) also co-star. Amityville: The Awakening is directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) and hits theatres on April 1st; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
