Jeff Nichols’ upcoming sci-fi film Midnight Special premiered at the Berlin Film Festival over the weekend where it was given a fairly warm reception by critics. Following up on that early buzz, Warner Brothers have released a new trailer for the movie that continues to intrigue while preserving the central mystery. The plot seems to revolve around a young boy who possesses supernatural powers and his family’s quest to protect him while the tone continues to exhibit echoes of early Spielberg. Midnight Special stars Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton, Kirsten Dunst, Adam Driver, Sam Shepard and Jaeden Lieberher (St. Vincent), and it hits theatres on March 18th.
