Skiptrace Trailer Starring Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville

skiptrace

If you thought that Johnny Knoxville made a decent action movie sidekick opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Last Stand, perhaps you’ll also be interested to see him team up with Jackie Chan in an upcoming U.S.-China co-production called Skiptrace. Directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, The Legend of Hercules), the movie finds Knoxville playing an American gambler in Macau who witnesses a murder. That puts him in the crosshairs of a Chinese crime boss and it’s up to a Hong Kong detective (Chan) to keep him alive. Although it does seem reminiscent of various classic Jackie Chan buddy action-comedies (which we don’t get to see very often anymore), something tells me I shouldn’t get my hopes up for this one. Skiptrace hits theatres in China later this month but a U.S. release is still TBA; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Renny Harlin, Chan. Sound good. And looks good, to me at last.

  • Deven Science

There looks to be some shot-for-shot remaking of several scenes from Shanghai Noon. That’s a fun (though dumb) movie, so I guess I’ll hope that this at least fits the same category. Fun, but dumb.

  • Lori Cerny

I’m not sure about the movie, but now I want a Jackie Chan premium!!! Pretty please?

  • Sean

I’m sure we could be persuaded.

  • Nobody

That’s an awesome premium idea. So many things to talk about – bloopers, dubbing, stunts, the Jackie Chan sex scene in Shinjuki Incident…

  • Sam

    Reed could guest!
