This is fine as long as you put the time each segment begins in the podcast (the screen of text you can flip to in your ipod), not just on the website.

Looks like Jessica Alba will be an adviser on Apprentice because of this: http://fortune.com/2016/02/05/alba-ipo-honest/

Had no idea she co-founded some start-up which, according to this article, is now valued at 1.7 Billion!

Sean, you should check out the podcast The X-Files Files with Kumail Nanjiani. http://www.feralaudio.com/show/x-files-files/ They do an episode for every 2 tv episodes but skip the ones that really aren’t worth watching. Kumail, an actor/comedian, just guest starred on the 3rd episode of new series. That was the best new one so far and in the same vein as the more lighter and humorous of the original series episodes. The show was very serious in the first two seasons, later on the occasional “funny” episodes would play with and poke fun at the serious world that had been established.

Reed Farrington, once again you display your exquisite, discerning taste.

  • Sean

Yeah I am aware of the podcast, had been meaning to listen now that I’ve gone back and watched a bunch of episodes. I think the popularity of his podcast has been cited as one of the reasons that the new season was even greenlit in the first place.

  • Yeah, she’s uber smart. Like I said below, I don’t know enough about the show to understand the nuance of how to win, but if it’s a business competition, she’s probably the most likely to succeed. The looks don’t hurt either.

Vince Neil is an absolute moron.

  • Been waiting 20 years!!

  • These actually look pretty good. I know that “Abyss Special Edition” was a thicker case than normal DVD, so the spine was extra big. Looks great cut down into a Blu-ray.

While I do consider this “collector cheating,” I have to say I would feel better if my shelf was all uniform like this.

  • Agreed. I haven’t quite figured out how to do that. Also, one of our listeners does the legwork on that and posts it in the comments section each week. I’m lazier and lazier every year.

  • Adam C.

I agree. I consider it “collector cheating” as well, but I also feel like on a lot of these movies I don’t really have a choice. I can’t believe how long it’s taking for many of these films to come to Blu-Ray! Especially movies like THE ABYSS and TRUE LIES. What’s the hold-up Cameron?! My solution is really just a ‘stopgap’ measure until everything I own on DVD can be successfully purchased on ‘Baby Blu’. (I suppose it speaks to my own impatience more than anything else. I’m just dying for uniformity, ya know?)

  • Adam C.

Okay, I got to thinking… During the ‘Junk Mail’ segment pertaining to the lunacy of me putting all of my DVD’s into Blu-Ray cases, one of the guys, (I can’t exactly remember who at the moment) asked the question, “what about the older, cardboard, ‘snapper-type’ DVD cases”? Well, for the hell of it, I went ahead and did my first one tonight. (I really only have a couple of those type, so I’ve pretty much avoided doing it up until now.)

I don’t think that it turned out too badly, considering. (It’s the 3-hour CBS Television Special from 1997 called ‘AFI’s 100 YEARS…100 MOVIES’.)
    The madness continues!

Very elegant solution, especially for the Kubrick’s.

You’ve managed to make your DVD’s an organic looking part of your collection.

I remember one Kurt Halfyard saying he kept his DVD box of a Kubrick collection and replaced the DVD’s in it with blu rays whenever he upgraded them. Whatever works for you.

My DVD’s stand out like a sore thumb but some have transfers that actually look pretty good on my HD TV.

I don’t think I could be bothered to do what you did however. I’d be thinking of the blu rays I could buy with the new case money.

  • You_Guise!

You are making your insanity seem a bit more sane, but I am still scared.

  • You_Guise!

It looks solid but this is primordial juicing.

  • You_Guise!

Been meaning to come in for a while and voice this idea. Spoilers all the way.
