Kiwi director Taika Waititi is on the verge of becoming a household name, having recently landed his first major blockbuster gig directing Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. He’s also working on a sequel to his acclaimed vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows that revolves around werewolves (he recently revealed it has a clever new title: We’re Wolves). Before either of those hit theatres, however, he’s got another indie comedy playing at Sundance this year called Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It looks to contain the same quirky sense of humour we’ve come to expect from him along with some action set pieces as well. The Orchard just acquired the film and will (hopefully) release it in North America later this year; check out a teaser trailer after the jump and see what you think.
