Last year Amazon debuted their first original movie, Spike Lee’s Chi-raq, which hit theatres almost one month before coming to their on-demand streaming service. Now this April they will release their next film in theatres, Elvis & Nixon, which they acquired following Cannes last summer. Directed by Liza Johnson (Hateship Loveship), the movie tells the offbeat and mostly untold story about an impromptu meeting that happened between Elvis Presley (played by Michael Shannon) and Richard Nixon (Kevin Spacey) on December 21st 1970. It looks pretty goofy, but I have to admit I’m slightly intrigued. Elvis & Nixon hits theatres sometime this April; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
