At the beginning of the year, we were all hoping that we would get to see Richard Linklater’s spiritual successor to Dazed and Confused sometime in 2015, but unfortunately the movie ended up getting pushed back to next year. The good news is that next year is no longer very far away! The first trailer has arrived online this week and the original title That’s What I’m Talking About has been jettisoned in favour of the Van Halen-inspired Everybody Wants Some. The story revolves around a group of college baseball players in the ’80s and once again draws from Linklater’s own life experiences (he attended Sam Houston State University on a baseball scholarship). As with most Linklater films, it looks to be simultaneously hilarious, insightful and relatable, and I for one cannot wait to see it.
