The Legend of Tarzan Trailer Starring Alexander Skarsgard

legendoftarzan

Following up on last year’s terrible-looking CG animated Tarzan, which essentially went direct-to-DVD, Warner Brothers is bringing a new take on the classic vine-swinging Edgar Rice Burroughs tale to the big screen next summer with an A-list cast and a significantly increased budget. The Legend of Tarzan stars a buffed up Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) in the title role while Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) plays Jane Porter, but the thing that sets it apart is the fact that it apparently takes place 10 years after Tarzan has returned from the jungle. He is now living an aristocratic life in Victorian-era London, until he is recruited as a trade emissary and returns to the Congo. The movie is directed by David Yates (Harry Potter) and co-stars Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt and Djimon Hounsou. The Legend of Tarzan hits theatres on July 1st; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

  • A lot of things going on in that trailer! Looks pretty good. Hopefully it won’t be to overstuffed.

Actually some shots look very impressive…some of the CG, especially Tarzan swinging not so much. I’m not sure I’m in with this or not…still think Greystoke Legend of Tarzan with Chris Lambert as Tarzan was pretty awesome telling of the story…greatly underrated.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing.
