Joy Trailer #2

joytrailer2

The first trailer for David O. Russell’s Joy was largely a dialogue-free montage of images and clips set to “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and while it looked fantastic, it still left many of us wondering what exactly this movie was about. Now this week a new trailer has arrived to flesh things out a bit, showing us an epic family drama spanning multiple generations and an examination of the grit and determination required to succeed in the cutthroat world of business. It’s certainly not what I would have expected from a biopic about the woman who invented the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers. Joy stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini and Bradley Cooper and it hits theatres on Dec. 25th. Check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I honestly can’t take Jennifer Lawrence seriously in these roles. She looks like a kid trying her hardest to act adult-y.

I was just thinking the same thing while watching that last part where she is supposedly being a bad ass. :/
