Jane Got a Gun Trailer Starring Natalie Portman

After going through several late casting changes and losing a director one week before production commenced, the Natalie Portman western Jane Got a Gun got off to a pretty rough start. Still, it seemed to finally be on track for release later this year until Relativity Media filed for bankruptcy, delaying the film indefinitely and throwing its future into question. It now looks like The Weinstein Company will release it in the U.S. early next year, but it will arrive in European theatres even earlier than that. Directed by Gavin O’Connor (Warrior), the movie also stars Joel Edgerton, Ewan McGregor, Rodrigo Santoro, Noah Emmeric and Boyd Holbrook. Jane Got a Gun hits theatres overseas on Nov. 25th; check out the international trailer after the jump and see what you think.

From the imdb page: “Michael Fassbender was originally cast as Dan Frost but he left the project after clashing with director Lynne Ramsay. After Fassbender departed the project, filming was set to begin the next week but Ramsay dropped the project and didn’t arrive on the first day on set. Less than 25 hours later, Gavin O’Connor was hired to replace Ramsay and production was back on track. After Lynne Ramsay departed the project, Jude Law also left the project a day before shooting was scheduled to begin citing that ‘he signed on to work with Ramsay’.”

Wow, what a mess. There’s probably an awesome behind the scenes doc in there somewhere, too bad we’ll likely never see it.

I know it has bad press for the production of it, but I think it looks good.

Oh, thank Christ, it’s not digital… Looks pretty damn good. Whoever says “enough firepower here to start another war” is using an accent straight out of Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln.
