The Leisure Class Trailer: The Latest Project Greenlight Film

theleisureclass

If you’ve been following along with the new season of Project Greenlight, you’ll know that it hasn’t really stuck to the original conceit of producing a broad mainstream comedy with the help of The Farrelly Brothers. Director Jason Mann has brought his own script to the project as well as his own sensibility, resulting in something a bit darker called The Leisure Class. The movie stars Ed Weeks, Tom Bell and Bruce Davison and it revolves around a con man who is marrying his way into a wealthy family only to have his uncouth brother drop in and wreck havoc on his plan. The Leisure Class will premiere on HBO on Mon. Nov. 2nd at 10 pm (one day after the Project Greenlight finale); check out the official trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Curious to see just how dark of a dark comedy this will be. It seems to have a broader sense of humour than his other short Delicacy or even his version of the Farrelly short.

Just looking on Jason Mann’s imdb and noticed he didn’t direct the short film to which this is based. Was that mentioned in PGL?

Not that I can recall. I got the impression that he had written this script and just shot some scenes to help with the pitch. Not sure who this Richard Dewey guy is.

I think he might have said he just wrote it. The full thing is here: https://vimeo.com/75814836

Doesn’t look like that car is rolling over.

  • Boy, you can really appreciate that this was shot on film!
