Here’s another big reveal from this year’s New York Comic-Con that generated a lot of excitement within certain circles. As you may know, the success of the 2014 U.S. Godzilla reboot helped get a new Toho Godzilla film off the ground, but what you may not know is that it also prompted a reboot of another beloved kaiju series: Gamera. The last Gamera film was Gamera the Brave released back in 2006, but the new version is simply titled Gamera and is expected to be released later this year in celebration of the franchise’s 50th anniversary. Gamera is directed by Katsuhito Ishii (Funky Forest: The First Contact); check out the proof-of-concept teaser trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
