After The Proposition, The Road and Lawless, John Hillcoat has built up a reputation for directing movies that are gritty, bleak and not palatable for all audiences. His next film, Triple 9, looks like it will be no different based on this NSFW red band trailer, although at first glance it could easily be mistaken for a David Ayer movie. The movie stars Woody Harrelson and Casey Affleck as a pair of Atlanta cops who face off against a gang of Russian mobsters led by Kate Winslet. The title comes from the police code for “officer down”, which is how the criminals plan to create a diversion while they pull off a major heist. Triple 9 co-stars Norman Reedus, Teresa Palmer, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie and Clifton Collins Jr. and it hits theatres on Feb. 19th.
