One of the most successful and heavily merchandised mobile games of all time comes to the big screen next summer with The Angry Birds Movie from Sony Pictures Animation. Clearly the game already has a built-in audience and plenty of name recognition, but are there any interesting characters or stories to be told here? It looks like this movie will reveal how the birds first met the pigs and how exactly they came to be sworn enemies. That being said, it seems like pretty bland stuff outside of the bright and colourful character designs. The Angry Birds Movie features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Maya Rudolph and Keegan-Michael Key and it hits theatres on May 20th, 2016.
