It was a strong debut for both of the major releases this past weekend as the Michael Ealy thriller The Perfect Guy just managed to edge out M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit to take the #1 spot with $26.7 million. The Visit was still a victory for Shyamalan, however, earning a solid $25 million — almost the same amount that After Earth opened to back in 2013 but at a mere fraction of the budget. Meanwhile, War Room fell to third place, while A Walk in the Woods and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation rounded out the top 5. The Transporter Refueled continues to have a rough go of it, dropping from fifth all the way to #8.
