After Ben Wheatley resurrected the British folk horror genre with movies like Kill List and A Field in England, we have since started to see a few more similar flicks crawling out of the woodwork. The recent trailer for Robert Eggers’ The Witch, while not British, does seem to fall into this category and now we also have The Hallow to look forward to. Directed by Corin Hardy, who has since signed on to direct The Crow reboot, the story revolves around a family who move into a house in rural Ireland and find themselves at odds with an ancient evil lurking in a nearby forest.
