Jean-Marc Vallee’s Demolition Trailer Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

demolition

After teaming up with Denis Villeneuve back in 2013 for both Prisoners and Enemy, this year Jake Gyllenhaal is debuting another intriguing film directed by a French-Canadian filmmaker. Demolition is directed by Jean-Marc Vallee (Dallas Buyers Club, Wild) and stars Gyllenhaal as a New York investment banker who loses his wife in a tragic car accident. As he starts coming to terms with the loss, he deals with his grief in some peculiar ways: by writing letters of complaint to a vending machine company and engaging in random acts of destruction. With a supporting cast that includes Chris Cooper, Naomi Watts and Heather Lind, it brings to mind the tone of movies like The Weather Man and About Schmidt. Demolition premieres at TIFF this month but it doesn’t hit theatres until April 8th, 2016; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I couldn’t give a half fart for such a film. First word problems on steroids. Just like Gyllenhaal. PAAASSSS
