After going back to his roots with more intimate indie films like Prince Avalanche, Joe and Manglehorn, David Gordon Green is branching out a bit with his latest film, the political dramedy Our Brand is Crisis. Based on the 2005 documentary of the same name, the movie stars Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton as two U.S. political campaign managers hired for opposing parties in a Bolivian election. Produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, it feels somewhat reminiscent of The Ides of March but with a more obvious comedic tone.
