New to Theatres This Weekend: American Ultra, Sinister 2, Hitman: Agent 47

As we head into the final two weekends of August, the quality of new releases in theatres is definitely trending downward as per usual. The horror sequel Sinister 2 is the only new movie expected to come close to last week’s box office champ Straight Outta Compton, but alas it is getting absolutely trounced by critics. Not much better off are the latest video game adaptation, Hitman: Agent 47 starring Rupert Friend, and the stoner spy action-comedy American Ultra starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. In select theatres, look for Joe Swanberg’s latest film Digging for Fire starring Jake Johnson and Rosemarie DeWitt, indie comedy Grandma starring Lily Tomlin, and Peter Bogdanovich’s first feature in over a decade, She’s Funny That Way.
