Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight Trailer

hatefuleighttrailer

Although there was a short announcement trailer playing in theatres as early as last summer, this week The Weinstein Company has finally released the first proper trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated The Hateful Eight. The movie stars Kurt Russell as a bounty hunter escorting a fugitive to be hanged (Jennifer Jason Leigh) in the town of Red Rock. But as they travel across Wyoming, they get caught in a snowstorm and are forced to hole up with six other strangers, some of whom may not be who they claim to be. The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Walt Goggins, Tim Roth, Demian Bichir, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern and it hits select theatres on Dec. 25th in 70mm before debuting everywhere else on Jan. 8th. Check out the first official trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Literally every single Tarantino film trailer makes you doubt that the film will be good. Then it turns out to be just as fantastic as the rest of his filmograpy.

Whether the film is any good, the trailer is at least a feast for thine eyes (though the comedy interjections are too predictable). Definitely feels like the colder inverted brother of Django Unchained. Also nice to see several past Tarantino cast members aboard.

I would worry about the anachronistic trailer music, but thankfully we know Morricone will do the score, so the actual movie isn’t going to have that vibe. Either way it looks awesome

Looks pretty bad, except for the always underrated Jennifer Jason Leigh.

is this a single location film?

Give me some Kurt! the more Kurt the better! But I wasn’t a fan of Inglorious Bastards or Tarintino’s last few movies even though they all had some fabulous scenes in them. But if the word is good I’ll check it out cause I love me some Kurt!

I was basically gonna say this. I haven’t been blown away by any of his trailers that I’ve seen but then the movie itself comes along and is awesome. Everything he does seems to work much better in context, I’m not worried in the slightest.

Love the old west winter look

    Woohoo! Now we’re talkin.

Reservoir dogs is my favorite Tarantino film.
Really excited that this seems to be exploring similar themes.
It also appears to be really unapologetic ..
My vagina is wide open Quentin

    Nope.

That’s my same worry! I love Tarantino, but his lack of scope is one of his weaknesses. Inglorious Basterds was great, but how do you make a men on a mission WWII film without a big outdoor action set-piece? I get that the theatre piece fit thematically, but c’mon!

Love to see Walt Goggins in anything, but especially in a hopefully bigger Tarantino role! That guy can act the hell out of a well written piece. Can’t wait. :)
