After couple of slower weeks, we are finally blessed with a pretty decent and varied selection of DVD and Blu-ray releases hitting stores this week. The big unit shifter will be YA sequel The Divergent Series: Insurgent, but looking beyond that we have Child 44 starring Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman, True Story starring James Franco and Jonah Hill, and Thomas Vinterberg’s well-received adaptation of Far from the Madding Crowd. Other genre-oriented VOD titles that are worth a look include Rodney Ascher’s terrifying documentary The Nightmare, the Mads Mikkelsen western The Salvation and Maori action flick The Dead Lands plus the Australian film described as “Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead“, Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead.
