Queen of Earth Trailer Starring Elisabeth Moss

Mad Men may be over, but Elisabeth Moss has already proven that she can be much more than just Peggy Olson with performances in movies like Get Him to the Greek, Listen Up Philip and The One I Love, not to mention the acclaimed mini-series Top of the Lake (which is about to get a second season). However, it is the upcoming film Queen of Earth that really seems to be turning heads with Moss providing a central performance that is both fearless and surprising. Described as a psychological thriller, the story revolves around a woman who has just suffered multiple heartbreaks in her life and retreats to a secluded lakehouse with her best friend (Katherine Waterston), only to have their relationship crumble. Queen of Earth finds her reteaming with Listen Up Philip director Alex Ross Perry and it hits select theatres and VOD on Aug. 26th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I wonder if the incongruous VO guy is a feature in the movie too.

  • Lori Cerny

I do not like this trailer, at all, as I’m getting a hokey a Single White Female vibe. I do like the premise, though, so hope it is just bad marketing.

Is there no regular pocast this week?

Holy shit! I love the trailer throwback. The voiceover and the editing. Perfection! I’m in.

I really disliked Listen Up Philip, but the best parts were with Elizabeth Moss, and I love her from Mad Men, so I might check it out. The trailer is fun with the throwback voiceover, but it has that Philip vibe that I wasn’t a fan of. :/
