Although Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow isn’t up for another brush with the prehistoric, the same can’t be said for leading man Chris Pratt, who has now been confirmed to be returning for the next chapter in the recently reinvigorated franchise. Along with Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard has also signed on for Jurassic Park 5, which has yet to receive an actual title. While we have in the past been forced to wait at least four years between entries, Universal Pictures is aiming for that not to be the case this time around, as Jurassic Park 5 is planned to hit theaters in 2018. Even if Trevorrow won’t be directing the next entry in the series, he will still be putting his mark on the movie as he is confirmed to be writing the script along with Derek Connolly, who was also one of the writers for Jurassic World. It is still unknown who will direct Jurassic Park 5 (currently being referred to as Jurassic World Sequel), which Trevorrow turned down for the possibility of directing Star Wars: Episode IX, according to previous rumors. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will return as producers, while Steven Spielberg, Jon Jashni, and Thomas Tull will once again be attached as executive producers.
