After earning several nominations throughout her career, Julianne Moore won her first Oscar earlier this year for her performance in Still Alice. Now it looks like she could be in the running for a few awards again this year thanks to the upcoming movie Freeheld. The movie is based on the true story of New Jersey police detective Laurel Hester (Moore) who fought to have her pension transferred to her domestic partner Stacie Andree (Ellen Page) after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) and co-starring Michael Shannon and Steve Carell, this looks hard-hitting and emotional but will it be dismissed as mere Oscar bait?
