I can’t stop laughing at the line: “I’m not that familiar with Josh Gad but his comedy seems to involve shrieking at annoying volumes for long periods of time.” Great review and I can’t wait to hear you guys talk about “Pixels” on the podcast.

Yeah, this was pretty bad. The 3D was no good. Q*Bert and Max Headroom are the only two saving graces and the weird credits sequence retelling the entire film in 8-bit was pretty good.

There’s a bud light commercial with Sandler and Monaghan. They share a bud light and then Sandler is upset that Monaghan drank it all. It serves no purpose to the characters or story, pushes nothing along. It is literally just a commercial for Bud Light.

As a guy just getting back into 3D, I’d like to say that it does have it’s merits at times. Anyone who saw Hugo’s 3D theatrical run knows what a confident filmmaker can do with the technology.

Both my brother and myself thought he 3D was very restrained. It could have been really cool, but it just seemed like they weren’t interested in going all the way.

The premise is an interesting and potentially awesome concept but the humor in the trailer was exactly as expected, brutal. Maybe one step above his typical Happy Madison productions. On the surface it sounds like Frank would love this but it feels like a total pander-fest.

Good review Sean as always. My interest was piqued in this movie when Peter Dinklage was cast cause he’s just awesome in about everything he’s been in since the Station Agent. But after the lackluster trailers, Sean’s review and the fact that I really can’t stand Sandler anymore…he just isn’t that funny and his schtick has really gone stale…the movie isn’t gonna get my hard earned dollar.

Sandler either has no interest in acting anymore or being funny. He’s seems to have become a million dollar paycheck collector and anything he stars in instantly becomes a negative factor for me. His mere mention casts a dark shadow over any project he’s connected with.

Pixel is a definite no go for me.

To paraphrase the great Dax: 3D is shit.

Don’t waste extra money on it. You’ll hardly notice it and the only scenes where you would are the ones where Ant-Man is ant-sized.
