Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert Trailer Starring Nicole Kidman

Werner Herzog’s latest film Queen of the Desert premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year to mostly unfavourable reviews, but it will be a few more months before the rest of us get to judge for ourselves. The movie stars Nicole Kidman as British archaeologist and explorer Gertrude Bell, who has often been called the female Lawrence of Arabia although many would argue she accomplished more. As it turns out, she was good friends with T.E. Lawrence, who is played by Robert Pattinson in the movie. Herzog also focuses on her love life and romances with British diplomat Henry Cadogan and military officer Charles Doughty-Wylie, played by James Franco and Damian Lewis respectively. Queen of the Desert is scheduled to hit theatres on Sept. 15th; check out the full trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Whoever soundmixed that, very impressive. The way the dialogue was like, really loud at times and the quick volume drop on the music, very impressive indeed.

Some of those lines were pretty bad I thought, but maybe they work better in context of the scenes. Some nice looking shots at least. That music cue at 2,40ish sounds familiar.
