Weekly Poll Results: Best Movie of 2015 So Far

I don’t think anyone will be too surprised to learn that Mad Max: Fury Road topped last week’s poll as the best movie of 2015 so far. Let’s be honest, it wasn’t even close as George Miller’s relentless action flick commanded over 50% of the votes. Second place was a little more unexpected as The Avengers: Age of Ultron also received a pretty significant amount of support, proving that even a lesser Marvel movie can still be a crowdpleaser. Alex Garland’s Ex Machina came in third, which is impressive considering that it was a relatively smaller release. Elsewhere Jurassic World finished in fourth while It Follows and Kingsman: The Secret Service tied for fifth. On the other end of the spectrum, Dope and Spy pulled up the rear. Do you agree with these results?

1. Mad Max: Fury Road — 52%
2. The Avengers: Age of Ultron — 20%
3. Ex Machina — 5%
4. Jurassic World — 4%

Hmmm. The last time I browsed the poll, the Mad Max/Avengers ratio was more like 44% to 31%. Mad Max must have had a last minute surge. Still clearly the favorite.

“lesser Marvel movie”? Is this Sean ‘editorializing’ again? Seriously though, I still enjoyed Avengers 2 more than most of the Phase One Marvel movies. I look forward to seeing more of the movies on this list.

    Mad Max Fury Road FTW

That bugged me too. Avengers was totally fine. Lesser is Iron Man 2, or depending on your perspective the Thor films.
